Friday On My Mind #43 - Yarn-Bombing + Lamps in the Woods + Daryl Dixon as a Cat + More!

Friday seems to come round so fast, doesn't it! I've had a fabulous week, drawing tigers for my upcoming book mostly - they take ages with all those crazy stripes! But I've still had time for websurfing my favourite creative + inspirational sites so here's my favourite things to share with you!

I really loved reading this interview with Magda Sayeg, whose name was previously unknown to me but her work certainly wasn't - she pretty much started the yarn-bombing trend and is a very inspiring and super crafty lady.... well worth a read!

I really love these installation pieces by Norwegian artist Rune Guneriussen. Be sure to click through and check the others out - picking a favourite for this post was tricky!

I like these chairs. A lot.

And these retro tea cups, from Mungo and Midge, are seriously cute.

Loving these sling bags made by South African Etsy collective Missibaba.

Ever wondered what The Walking Dead's Daryl Dixon would look like as a cat? Wonder no more..... Artist Jenny Parks has drawn cat versions of various popular culture heros and villians - check them all out here!

Interesting links for your weekend reading!

Some great advice here for makers wanting to get featured in magazine gift guides from Handmadeology! Seems to early to prepare for Christmas but not in magazine land it seems.

I really enjoyed this interview with wonderful Melbourne artist Emily Ferretti on The Design Files.

This is a great read and timely reminder of the futility of comparing yourself to others from Leo over on Zen Habits.

I think I cried the first time I got negative feedback online! For my fellow over-emotional artists, here's some good advice from Cassie Jene on dealing with negative feedback.

And some interesting reading about identity-based habits from James Clear.

Have a great weekend folks! Jen x
