Remember how I declared that February would be Etsy month? Well, it's half way through and so time for an update.
For those of you new around here, this year I am doing a series of marketing experiments in order to learn how to better market myself as an artist and indie business owner. You can read all about it here!
This month, my focus has been Etsy. And it's been really fun! Here's how I've gone so far....
My shop is definitely starting to look better, don't you think? |
Part 1 - Shop
I've done almost everything in my shop plan. The only things left to do are make a new avatar and a custom listing button. Everything else is done - new header, new policy page, better photos.... well, the photos are a work in progress but they are definitely improving!
Some of my new products shots, taken by my husband Wade with his fancy camera and edited by me on Pic Monkey. |
Part 2 - Sell
I haven't quite managed to keep up my slightly over the top schedule for listing and promoting items, but I have still done quite a lot! My sales have increased slightly but not enough to really make me happy yet.... but the month is only halfway done so we'll see how the second half goes. One thing I haven't done here yet is work out Etsy gift cards - will get onto that asap!
Part 3 - Socialise
This has been really fun, mainly because I can now browse on Etsy and call it work!! I've spent many hours browsing, picking new favourites, making treasuries, looking at other people's treasuries and promoting other people's items I love on twitter. My circle on Etsy has grown quite a bit so that is good and I've been having fun doing it and discovered some really neat new shops!
Are you on Etsy? Come on over to my shop and lets connect! I'd love to see your work as well and we can support each other through our shops - good plan, hey!

Here's a couple of my favourite new shops and products for you to check out!
Love these dreamy photographic cushions by Andrekart! |
Non-Fiction Tees - greek gods, minerals and the carbon cycle, plus so many more! So daggy yet so freaking cool don't you agree?? |
So I'm going to keep this up for the rest of the month and then see where it's all at!
What's your best Etsy tip? Let me know in the comments and I'll add it to my to do list!
Have a great day everyone! Jen x
You are doing really well!
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me that my shops need a bit of a refurb too!
