Illustration Crush - Helena Carrington

Today we are showcasing the work of an illustrator I really love - Helena Carrington from the UK.

Her travel-inspired work is bright and colourful and has a real sense of place. I love the way her lines are not always complete, yet they are so perfect in their incompletedness (is that a real word??) that to draw it any other way would not have as much impact. And of course as a colour lover I adore the bright colours throughout most of her work!

These cushions featuring Helena's work are great, aren't they?

For more of Helena's work, check out her website or Etsy store, and you can follow her on Facebook too for regular updates on her new work.

Tasmanian Craft Fair 2013

As you can see by the lack of posts this week I have been busy! This weekend is the Tasmanian Craft Fair, the biggest art/craft event on the Tasmanian calendar as well as being the largest working craft show in Australia! It goes for four days (Fri - Mon) and is Red Parka's biggest event of the year so I have been flat out preparing my stock.

For those of you in Tassie, I hope to see you there! I'll be in Venue 5, site 526. Come and find me and say hi - I'd love to meet you! Full details of the show can be found on their website.

See you there folks!
