Friday On My Mind #53 - Chickens + Elephants + Facebook News + Marriage Inspiration + More....

How does Friday come around so fast!

Been a whirlwind week here at Red Parka - the most exciting thing that has happened is I booked in the date for my book launch! It's going to be at 5.30pm, 7th November, at the Hobart Bookshop. I'm super excited about this as it's my first book, therefore my first launch, obviously! Despite being slightly terrified that I may be compelled to speak in public, it's is still going to be a blast. If you're in Tasmania I'd love it if you could come!! But don't worry, closer to the time I'll be posting an 'official' invitation here for all you lovely folk who read my blog.

For those of you in faraway exotic lands, there's going to be a blog launch + blog tour as well!! Yipee! So I'll see you there! But now, on to FOMM....

Here's a few of my favourite finds for the week plus some excellent articles to check out at the end. Enjoy!

This is one of my favourite pins ever!

My love for elephants is no secret around here - aren't these little brooches from Pom by Pomegranate adorable? I LOVE them!!

Let's go to Rome an stay in this hotel! Isn't it fabulous?

In love with this hammock! Bring on summer!

Just Draw It!
Koosje Koene is an illustrator from The Netherlands who is an absolute gem! If you've ever wanted to learn to draw, she's your gal. Read all about it here!

Some good reads for the weekend

I really enjoyed this article about decision making and how to focus more on the things that matter.

Very happy to read that Facebook has changed the way we're allowed to run Facebook contests - for the better! This is great news for little creative businesses like Red Parka. Get the lowdown on Viralnomics.

And for those of you in the Facebook-contest-running game, here's 101 tips on making the most of your contest!

And last but most importantly of all, here is a beautifully written post about marriage, about losing yourself (and each other) and then learning to rebuild your foundations. Just what I needed to read today!

Have a beautiful weekend everyone! And if you're a local, come find us at Salamanca market tomorrow or Kingston Beach Handmade on Sunday!
