Hooray! It's Instagram Month!



Are you on Instagram?

I LOVE Instagram..... 
it's my favourite social media platform because it's so visual, so friendly and easy to get involved. I have made more real friends on Instagram than any other platform. (If we are not Instagram friends yet, come and find me @redparka!) And I find my Instagram feed is a constant source of inspiration for me.

But using Instagram for business is another story.

While I like the fact that Instagram is not all about business, it would be good to be able to leverage my love for this platform to help me promote Red Parka, although I am committed to maintaining Instagram as my most 'fun' social media account, as well as one where I can explore my creativity and meet fellow artists and learn about the world regardless of how this does or does not affect my business.

So today, I'm going to talk about my plan for Instagram month and share with you some of my latest Instagram pics! 

I currently have just over 500 followers so I'll be aiming to increase that as much as I can during June. Here's what I'm going to do:
  • Get chatty, comment more + be more social on other people's feeds.
  • Post at least one photo a day.
  • Enter Instagram contests and try to get featured on other pages.
  • Practice new techniques to make my photos better.
  • Find at least one interesting new feed to follow every day (suggestions very welcome!!)
  • Feature some of my favourite Instagrammers on my own feed to share the insta-love!
  • Maybe run my own little Instagram contest?
  • Go on an Instameet and write about it here on the blog.
  • Learn techniques for promoting Red Parka on Instagram without being annoying!
I have a wonderful friend who is a bit of an expert on Instagram so I'll be inviting him to the blog to share his best tips with you all as well. If you have any tips to share please let me know in the comments too!

I hope you'll play along with me for Instagram month and lets see if we can all get some more enjoyment + inspiration!

    I'm a total addict, too. I love how you share your plans-of-action here. It's good to have goals for growth as a blogger and with social media there are so many outlets to consider. I'm already following you on IG : )

      Thanks Jaimee - I'm still learning about it all and you're right, there are so many outlets it's hard to know what to do first! WHich is what the Year of Marketing is all about. I love your IG feed! x

    I love instagram! I try to promote our blog also, it's way more social than another thing. I don't know but I believe that are more people interest in cats hashtags that in blog hashtags :) When I put photos of my cats it's crazy.

    Very smart, Jen! It's good that you thought of using Instagram as a hype. It's currently at it's peak and businesses haven't gotten the best of it yet. On another note, I like your attitude towards this. Yes, please. Do keep this platform fun and social. :) Richard@Online MArketing In A Box
