Gypsy Dreaming + Vintage Vans + Building My New Home!

Photo via My Cool...
Who wants to run away in a campervan with me?? You do? Awesome!

If you're a regular here, I'm sure you have heard me talk about my gypsy dreams of running away in a campervan, throwing away my worldly possessions and living on the road, just me, my dog and my laptop.... well, part of this dream is about to happen as this week I am picking up my new van!

It's a small mini bus with most of the seats taken out ready for me to fill with my little home! So as you can imagine, I am busy planning, sketching and researching, coming up with ideas and plans for making it cosy, comfortable and effective as a living/work space. I have found a guy in NSW who does amazing fit outs so he's going to help me.

But in the meantime, I'm spending far too much time drooling over Pinterest pics of amazing vans!

Here's my inspiration board and here's some of my favourite pics inspiring me at the moment. The exterior of the new van is not nearly as exciting as some of these, however, the inside, where it really matters, is a blank canvas! Eek!

I am so excited by the adventures we will have together! Do you dream of running away in a campervan? Or a caravan? Or perhaps a gypsy wagon?

Maybe I'll see you out there on the road one day!

  4. How exciting! Sometimes I think traveling from place to place would be the best lifestyle for me. Maybe when I am older it can be a goal! Can't wait to see photos of your van and hear about your travels.

  5. I would love for that day to come! We can probably exchange some things then, like a mariner-drifter trade. :D Anyhow, the pink camper van stood out, for me, at least. I think it shows smart use of limited space -- the doors functioning as a cabinet and a bulletin board. :)

  6. Living in a camper van is not all fun, particularly when the maintenance part comes in. I am not discouraging you, Jennifer, nor am I trying to. Anyway, I'm certain you're aware that you have to embrace a lot of things together with the freedom of mobile living. How's your van-to-home transformation doing?
