Welcome to the first Illustration Crush post for 2013!
Today we head to the Chilterns in the UK to meet Cathy Connolly of The Faraway Hills. An illustrator, watercolourist and printmaker, Cathy draws from her love of nature and folklore to create these simply beautiful images. I really love Cathy's use of pattern and colour - I think it's a bit reminiscent of folk art from Scandinavia, although I know she is much inspired by various Celtic traditions, myths and legends as well. Cathy also does some pretty amazing needlepoint work that is totally worth a look!
