We live for beauty....

I made a desktop wallpaper!
Hello! If you've been reading about my Personal Revolution you would know that this week I'm working at cleaning up my digital life. One aspect of this was to clean up my desktop and I've done it! I now have one (yes, ONE) icon on my desktop. In that folder I still have a few things to sort out, but there's a real sense of peace in opening up your computer in the morning and seeing a clean, uncluttered, inspiring place. You see, I think trying to work on a cluttered computer is like trying to cook in a messy kitchen. You can totally do it. But it's not as enjoyable.

I've been searching the net for some awesome and lovely (and free!) desktop wallpapers to share with you guys so you can create a fun, peaceful, clean and inspiring desktop to start your working days with. And as you can see above, I made one of my own too! So check out the links and if you like mine, you can download it for free here!

The lovely ladies at The Maven Circle design and make available a weekly wallpaper featuring inspiring quotes and images.

Design Milk also has some great wallpaper downloads done by artists - here's a one of my favourites.

For something more peaceful (and with a calendar to boot!) check out the monthly desktops over at Oh, hello friend.

I hope you like some of these - I'm feeling inspired to make a few more with my own drawings now!

On a slightly more serious note...
I wanted to tell you all how much I love having you here and sharing this space with you. Yesterday was a sad day. Someone was killed and even though I didn't know this person for some reason it shook me to the core. I heard it on the news, which I don't normally listen to because it is all too often disturbing and upsetting. For the rest of the day, I was obsessed. All I seemed to be able to think about was this poor guy who was killed for no reason while going about his own business. Did he have a wife and kids? Or was he just at the beginning of his life's journey. I don't know. But one thing I do know is that here, on my blog and in this community of bloggers, artists and dreamers, is one place where I can find peace. Here, we live for beauty. We live for colour and trees and coffee dates and thunderstorms and banana bread and adventures and old books that tell wild stories. We live for strong women raising their families to be strong as well. We live for the crazy and all consuming love that brings our people close and makes us able to withstand anything to protect them. We live for beauty. I love it here and know how incredibly blessed I am to be able to choose this world. It's fragile yet so robust. I treasure it. So thank you. xx
